Dimples are formed as a result of the underlying flesh of the cheeks. Would you believe if i say dimples are actually the manifestations of a birth defect? They occur from a shortened facial tissue, thus when a person smiles, the shorter muscles of his/her /my face cause the facial skin to get pulled, creating a slight depression in the skin, a dimple. What's more interesting is that, dimples are a dominant genetic trait..
Strangely, dimples which are believed to beautify your face, are actually defects.. Despite the imperfection, i'm not complaining.. i dont see why i should.. he he.. :)
